Mercoledì, 16 dicembre 2020 — Mentre questo pazzo anno volge al termine, Ringo regala una canzone di pace, amore e amicizia: il singolo “Here Is To The Nights” è infatti disponibile da oggi su tutte le piattaforme digitali ed il video è in arrivo venerdì 18 dicembre. Il brano è stato composto da Diane Warren e Ringo è affiancato dai suoi amici tra cui: Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Corinne Bailey Rae, Eric Burton (Black Pumas), Sheryl Crow, FINNEAS, Dave Grohl, Ben Harper, Lenny Kravitz, Jenny Lewis, Steve Lukather, Chris Stapleton e Yola.

 “Quando Diane mi ha presentato questa canzone, ne ho amato il sentimento”, ha detto Ringo. “Questo è il tipo di canzone che tutti vogliono cantare, ed è stato fantastico il numero di musicisti meravigliosi che si sono uniti al progetto. Volevo che uscisse in tempo per Capodanno perché sembra una buona canzone per concludere un anno difficile. Quindi eccoci alle notti che non ricorderemo e agli amici che non dimenticheremo – e auguro a tutti pace e amore per il 2021 “.

La canzone è il primo singolo tratto dal suo prossimo EP, intitolato “Zoom In”, che è stato registrato nello studio di casa di Ringo Starr tra aprile e ottobre 2020. Per questo EP, Starr ha collaborato con autori e produttori tra cui Jeff Zobar che ha scritto la title track “Zoom In , Zoom Out ” durante la pandemia, con Robbie Krieger alla chitarra; Sam Hollander che ha scritto e prodotto “Teach Me To Tango” – inviando a Ringo una traccia quasi completata in cui ha aggiunto la voce e, ovviamente, la batteria; Ringo ha scritto “Waiting For The Tide to Turn” con Bruce Sugar e Tony Chen; e “Not Enough Love In the World”, scritto da Steve Lukather e Joseph Williams, membri di lunga data di All Starr (full credits sotto).

Prendendo ogni precauzione, Ringo ha invitato pochi musicisti in diverse occasioni nel suo studio casalingo per registrare la musica. Insieme a Starr c’erano Nathan East (basso), Steve Lukather (chitarra), Bruce Sugar (chitarra synth), Benmont Tench (piano), Charlie Bisharat (violino), Jacob Braun (violoncello) e Jim Cox (arrangiamenti e archi synth).

Nel corso della sua carriera, Ringo Starr ha ricevuto nove GRAMMY® Awards ed è stato inserito due volte nella Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, prima come Beatle e poi come artista solista. Tra il 1970 e il 2020, Ringo ha pubblicato 20 dischi in studio da solista. Ha recitato in oltre 15 film, ha ricevuto un Academy Award® ed è stato nominato come attore per un Emmy®. Ringo ha pubblicato sette libri. Nel 2018 è stato nominato cavaliere e nel 2019 ha festeggiato 30 anni di tour con “All Starr Bands”. Nonostante tutti i suoi numerosi successi creativi, Ringo è e sarà sempre, prima di tutto, un musicista, un batterista.
